Health Information Management
The Health Information Management Program provides students the hands-on practical application that will allow them to effectively support a medical office or facility at the entry level. Students will be introduced and guided through skills used or associated in medical insurance, medical coding, reimbursement, collection, and the standards of HIPAA compliance and safeguards that protect health care information. In addition, students learn and practice management software that is industry-driven with principles vital to electronic billing processing to complete daily office tasks.

Certification
The American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) offers credentialing as a Certified Coding Associate (CCA) as the starting point for an individual entering a career in this field.
