Learn skills specific to your occupational interest such as veterinary medicine, sports medicine or pharmaceuticals.  This is a rigorous academic course that requires a high level of independent study.  It concentrates on basic health care concepts necessary for health care workers and moves on to theory. Job shadowing and hands-on skills gained through internships at offices and clinics of individual interests

Length: 2 Semesters

Recommended: 
2.0 GPA, seniors only.  Juniors with satisfactory completion of MC10 or equivalent academic course and special permission may be considered for enrollment.

Additional Comments:  Second semester students participate in an internship.  Transportation must be provided.  This course conducts random drug testing.

Average Entry Level Salary:  Veterinary Tech $14 - $14.50 per hour, Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation $11 - $12 per hour, Pharmacy Technician $13 - $14 per hour
