EVIT Physical Therapy students & teacher

Physical therapy technicians and chiropractic assistants work under the supervision of licensed physical therapists or doctors of chiropractic, and provide care and therapy service for people with medical conditions and functionally-limiting injuries. Physical therapy technicians support physical therapy care delivery by preparing the treatment area, patient, and equipment.

This rigorous academic course requires a high level of independent study. Training is divided into academic coursework and hands-on clinical experience. Coursework includes anatomy and physiology, communication, law and ethics, infection control, medical terminology, the use of equipment and techniques to aid patients in rehabilitation.

Note: Qualified students participate in job shadowing and/or internships in physical therapy offices or clinics, and must provide their own transportation. Drug testing is required.
