The medical assistant is educated and trained to perform
administrative and clinical skills in a variety of settings including
doctors’ offices, hospitals and clinics.
Learn medical terminology, body systems, optometry, EKG, phlebotomy,
autoclave, CPR and first aid, OSHA safety standards, and other medical
specialties. Gain an understanding of office procedures such as patient
billing, medical records, purchasing supplies and filing insurance

Recommended: 2.5 GPA, no criminal record, Anatomy and Physiology for Medical Careers (MC10) or equivalent course, or (1) credit in Biology
Certification: Graduates are prepared to take the examination for Certified Medical Assistant
