Dental Assistant

Prepare for a dental career learning medical terminology, ethics, customer service and professionalism.  Learn to work in a dental office using procedures such as sterilizing equipment, preparing patients for dental examinations, dental radiography, proper dental health and laboratory procedures, and dental office administrative procedures.

Additional Comments:  Job shadowing and internship opportunities at local dental offices.  Student must provide transportation to job shadowing and internship sites.

Recommended:  2.5 GPA, (2) English credits, (2) Math credits, Seniors only (Juniors with approval of Health Director), no criminal record, excellent attendance.  This course conducts random drug testing.
