Arizona Tax Credit
Arizona tax law (ARS §43-1089.01) allows taxpayers a tax credit if they contribute to extracurricular activities in public schools. This tax credit is available to all Arizona individual taxpayers regardless of whether they have children in school.
An extracurricular activity is any optional, non-credit educational or recreational activity that supplements the education program of the school such as field trips, guest speakers and travel to competitions.
The allowable tax credit limits are $200 for a single individual or head of household or $400 for a married couple filing a joint return.
Unlike a regular deduction that only allows you to subtract the contribution from your taxable income, a tax credit is a dollar-for-dollar deduction in the actual tax owed.
You may indicate the school and which program(s) you would like to support or you can designate your money to be given to the school or program that has the greatest need.
The amount of donation you make does not have to be for the maximum allowable. You can make a difference in our schools with even $50, $75, or $100.
Two simple ways to make your Arizona Tax Credit donation:1. Donate securely through PayPal:
2. Mail your check or credit card donation:
Donations must be made by Dec. 31 to receive tax credit for that year. |
