Gain hands-on experience in classroom education on how to manage a classroom, facilitate learning centers and support the development of the whole child. 

Participate in individual and group projects, text work, and professional development activities.

These skills and knowledge are then implemented at the on-site Head Start program.

Length:  4 semesters          

Recommended:  No criminal record, (1) English and (1) Pre-Algebra credit with minimum grade of C

Dual Enrollment:  Health/Nutrition Early Childhood, Safe/Early Child Setting, Child Care: A Multifaceted Career, Child Development, Observing Young Children, Arranging the Environment, Discipline/Guidance of Child Groups

Possible Careers:  Childcare & Preschool Aides, Teacher, Hospitals and Medical Centers, Nanny

Average Entry Level Salary:  $9 - $11 per hour

Identify philosophies and develop a leadership and teaching style.

The college prep curriculum includes a survey study of the teaching profession and educational theories of learning. 

Conduct research, create lessons, and present concepts. 

Participate in various job shadowing experiences.
