Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
Learn to handle emergency situations by gaining skills that provide immediate care, stabilization and immobilization of victims of illness and injury.
First responders are also trained to provide basic medical care, recognition of signs and symptoms of illness and injury, intervention and evaluation, techniques for assessment and administration of oxygen.

Length: 2 Semesters
Recommended: 2.5 GPA, Seniors only (must be 18 years by June 30 to take certification exam upon course completion), (6) high school credits including (1) English and (1) Algebra credit, no criminal record, must be able to lift heavy objects.
Certification: Upon completion, students are prepared to take the State and National EMT examinations.
Possible Careers: EMT for Ambulance, Firefighting, Paramedic, Emergency Room Tech
Average Entry Level Salary: $14 - $16 per hour
