Medical Assistant

Learn medical terminology, medical office procedures, body systems, optometry, EKG, phlebotomy, autoclave and other medical specialties used in a medical office or health care facility.   Prepare to work in various medical office positions in hospitals, clinics and other health care facilities.

Additional Comments:  Students participate in externships during the second year of the program and must provide own transportation.

Recommended: 2.5 GPA, no criminal record, Anatomy and Physiology for Medical Careers (MC10) or equivalent course, or (1) credit in Biology

Certification: Graduates are prepared to take the examination for Certified Medical Assistant
