5th Annual Masquerade Fantasy Hair Show
Annual event showcases student skills and creativity in Cosmetology and Aesthetics programs

The East Valley Institute of Technology will host its 5th Annual Masquerade Fantasy Hair Show on Thursday, Dec. 8 and Friday, Dec. 9.
More than 360 Cosmetology students will participate in the event. Students will serve as models and work in teams to create a "Total Look including hair styling, make up, nail art and costumes based on a chosen theme.
First-year students have selected movie themes; second-year students will feature fantasy themes. A number of students have chosen to be environmentally-friendly in their designs by including items such as a duct tape and newspapers.
Daytime preview shows will be held at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Dec. 8 for students in the Main Auditorium. Tickets will be sold in advance for $2.00 each. The money raised from ticket sales will benefit the Mesa United Way.
The evening show will be held at 6 p.m. on Dec. 9 with overflow seating in the Culinary Banquet Hall. Tickets are $5.00 for auditorium and $3.00 for overflow seating, Proceeds will go to the EVIT Cosmetology and Aesthetics programs to help pay for students to travel and compete in SkillsUSA competitions.
Several EVIT programs are involved in the production of this event including Construction Technologies (building of the set), Interior Design (set design and decor), Radio Broadcasting (emcee, music and commentary), Video Productions (filming and live video feed), Culinary Arts (set-up of overflow viewing area) and Multimedia Technologies (event photography). Space is limited for all shows. Ticket must be purchased in advance!
