Treated to K9 Visit
by EVIT Media Relations
Tempe Police K9 Officer Ribotta visited EVIT law enforcement classes today to talk about his job and show off police dog Jaegar's skills.
Students got to ask Officer Ribotta lots of questions, such as how many calls he goes out on in a night and how much training he conducted with Jaegar. Ribotta told stories about how Jaegar has fearlessly taken down criminals.
And then the students got to see Jaegar in action.
EVIT Biotechnology
by EVIT Media Relations Biotech students were busy testing water samples from local restaurants, looking for evidence of E. coli bacteria. E. coli can sometimes make its way into restaurant beverages when ice has been handled with unclean hands, which I was not thrilled to learn.

EVIT Culinary Arts Program
Attracting More Students
by EVIT Media Relations
Out of the gray gloom of the US job market, Southeast Valley high school students have been following a torch of hope that beckons from scattered brick buildings in central Mesa.
The East Valley Institute of Technology culinary arts program grew by 50 students to 260 this school year, and for the first time, opened a restaurant this month to the public.
A nondescript two-story building houses the program and the new restaurant called The Fifth Season, which will be open once a month to the public for dinner.
