Students from EVIT TV's Productions class will hold a film festival at Tempe Marketplace Harkins Theatre. The festival will showcase some of their work from the class. The theatrical premiere will feature nine short films from the advanced students, as well as, highlights from the past school year. Student's from EVIT's TV Production class have earned regional accolades through the National Student Television Academy Awards (also known as the "Student Emmys.")
Students at the East Valley Institute of Technology (EVIT) will get a glimpse of their future when representatives of BMW North America and Chapman BMW discuss careers in the automotive industry on Friday, May 2, 2008 for the first EVIT Career and Education Day. The students from EVIT are members of Automotive Youth Educational Systems (AYES), a partnership among automotive manufacturers, participating dealers, and selected high schools. BMW looks at these students as a future resource for recruiting young and talented automotive professionals into the industry.

From altitude chambers to solo flights, students with a passion for flying are having their dreams come true.They are finding out just what it is all about to be a pilot. A recent field trip to ASU’s Altitude Chamber provided an experience that isn’t normally available to high school students.
When Kathryn Pankretz forgot the tomatoes in her Poulet Chasseur avec Pommes de Terre Chateau, she thought it was over.The months that the Corona del Sol High School senior and East Valley Institute of Technology culinary student had spent practicing her knife cuts and perfecting the chicken-and-potato recipe were in vain, she felt.
When American Idol contestant Brooke White left Arizona for California to pursue a music career, her former cosmetology teacher at the East Valley Institute of Technology never expected to see her on one of the most popular television shows in the country.Teri Mosier, White's cosmetology teacher at EVIT during the 1999-2000 school year, had never watched the show but said she was surprised when she found out White was a contestant and “went home and turned it on right away.”
Students of the East Valley Institute of Technology (EVIT) Culinary Arts program won over $120,000 in scholarships with their culinary skill in the Arizona C-CAP Cooking Competition on March 29th, 2008.The annual competition requires high school seniors to prepare a designated savory and a sweet dish from memory and be judged by local top chefs on technique, skills, taste, and presentation.
In the 2008 competition, students prepared Poulet Chasseur avec Pommes de Terre Chateau (Hunter’s Chicken with Turned, Sauteed Potatoes and Crepes Secrees with Crème Patissiere and Sauce au Chocolat (Dessert Crepes with Pastry Cream and Chocolate Sauce).
Seven students from Fashion Merchandising class at the East Valley Institute of Technology (EVIT) had the opportunity of a fashion-lover’s lifetime. The girls were able to spend the weekend of March 1st at the heart of the West Coast fashion industry in Los Angeles, visiting the California Market, touring the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, attending the Debut 2008 Fashion Show, and purchasing material at the Garment District.
