High school students interested in enrolling at the East Valley Institute of Technology have the opportunity to learn more about EVIT programs by attending The EVIT Experience from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, April 2 at the Dr. A. Keith Crandell (Main) Campus, 1601 W. Main St., Mesa.

 Students will spend the day with an EVIT program they select to participate in hands-on activities and experience what the class is like. Instructors and administrators will explain what each career and technical education (CTE) program has to offer. Parents are also welcome to attend.

 There will be a 30-minute lunch break at the EVIT Bistro 13 restaurant. Meals will be available for a minimum of $5.50. To register for The EVIT Experience, visit this link on the EVIT website:

 EVIT offers about 40 CTE programs tuition-free for high school students who reside in 10 East Valley districts – Mesa, Tempe, Chandler, Gilbert, Scottsdale, Higley, Apache Junction, Fountain Hills, Queen Creek and J.O. Combs. Students spend a half-day at EVIT and a half-day at their high school. School districts provide transportation to EVIT for most students.

 High school programs include: 3D Animation; Aesthetics; Automotive Technologies; Aviation; Banking; Barbering; Behavior, Mental & Social Health Services; Cisco Networking Academy; Collision Repair; Computer Programming & Mobile App Design; Construction Technologies; Cosmetology; Culinary Arts & Commercial Baking; Dental Careers; Diesel Technologies; Digital Device Diagnostic & Repair; Early Childhood Education & Education Professions; Emergency Medical Technician; Fashion, Interiors & Textiles; Fire Science;  Future Engineers; Graphic Design; Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning; Human Anatomy & Physiology for Medical Careers; Information Technology & Engineering Careers; Introduction to Multimedia Technologies; Law Enforcement; Machining Technology; Massage Therapy; Medical Assistant; Nursing Assistant; Pharmacy Technician; Photography; Physical Therapy Technician; Plumbing; Radio/Audio Production; Robotics Engineering; Veterinary Assistant; Video Production; Web Design; and Welding.

 EVIT students have a 96 percent high school graduation rate, 2 out of 3 go on to college; and 87 percent are in jobs, college or the military within one year of completing their CTE training.

 In 2015, EVIT was named an A+ School of Excellence by the Arizona Educational Foundation, and readers of the East Valley Tribune voted EVIT as Best Public School in Mesa.
