EVIT School of Health Sciences

 The medical assistant is educated and trained to perform administrative and clinical skills in a variety of settings including doctors' offices, hospitals and clinics.

Learn medical terminology, body systems, optometry, EKG, phlebotomy, autoclave, CPR and first aid, OSHA safety standards, and other medical specialties. Gain an understanding of office procedures such as patient billing, medical records, purchasing supplies and filing insurance claims.

Along with the 2-year program, there also is a 1-year Medical Assistant program at the EVIT Main Campus.  This program is open to high school student and Adult Education students.

Note: Students participate in externships during the second year of the program and must provide own transportation to clinical sites. Students may be randomly drug tested.

EVIT + Pima Medical Institute

Once an EVIT student completes the Medical Assistant program, the student will have 20 earned credits available to apply towards enrollment in the PMI Health Care Administration Degree program. Students also have the opportunity to dual enroll in two online PMI courses, at no charge to the EVIT student, for 25 earned credits available to apply towards enrollment in the PMI Health Care Administration Degree program.
