2021 EVIT Program Completers,

Congratulations! You are one of many students who is set to complete your EVIT career training program and a step closer to starting your dream career. The East Valley Institute of Technology, EVIT, will be hosting the 2021 Completion Ceremonies at Cubs Stadium Sloan Park. The ceremony venue is located at 2230 West Rio Salado Parkway in Mesa.

This year there will be two completion ceremonies. For students at the EVIT Power and Apache Junction campuses, your ceremony will be on Monday, May 17 at 7 p.m. For students at the EVIT Main and Fountain Hills campuses, your ceremony will be on Tuesday, May 18 at 7 p.m.

Here is some important information and guidelines for the event:
  • Masks are required by the venue. All guest two years or older will be required to wear a face covering at all times, unless actively eating or drinking while seated. Volunteers may remind you to mask up. Please understand that this is a venue requirement. Remember to treat everyone with civility and kindness. If this changes, we will let you know.
  • All students participating in the ceremony must wear a graduation gown. Students are encouraged to wear their home school gown if they have one. If they pre-ordered a cap, gown, and/or program/honor cords from EVIT see your your instructor at the EVIT Main Campus or see Mrs. DJ in building 2 at the Power Campus on or after May 13th.
  • Appropriate clothing must be worn under the gown. Please remember that graduation gowns do not reach the floor. Students should be dressed nicely as if they are going to a professional job interview. To be clear -- do not wear stiletto type shoes to this ceremony. Flat or wedge-type shoes/sandals are appropriate and encouraged. Chicago Cubs will NOT allow students on the field wearing stiletto heels.
  • Completing students at both campuses are required to attend an informational meeting about completion. Meeting details will be shared closer to the date.
  • Students should arrive no later than 6 p.m. (one hour before the ceremony) -- Earlier is better. Please meet in the correct staging area on either side of the concourse. EVIT instructors and staff will be there to line up students in the appropriate order. Students should make arrangements to leave personal items with family members. If a student requires special assistance, please contact Bre Marshall at 480-461-4114 for travel/parking directions.
  • Gates will open at 5 p.m. and seating will be on a first-come, first-serve basis for guests. Guests are encouraged to arrive early and dress appropriately for the weather. This is an outdoor venue.
  • No bag policy. This year a no bag policy will be in effect at completion. Most concerts, graduations & sporting events have something similar in place. Even guests carrying clear bags will be sent back to vehicles. More info:
  • No balloons or confetti cannons. Balloons or confetti cannons will not be allowed at the venue. If brought to the venue, you will be asked to return them to your vehicle or they will be confiscated.
  • We have no desire to cap the number of family members to attend the completion ceremony, but please if you are sick please stay home! For the convenience of our EVIT families this year there will be a livestream available to watch the ceremony online and you can also hear the live broadcast on the radio on 88.7 FM - The Pulse.
  • Depending on your location and traffic drive time, the drive may be an hour or more to the venue. Mesa is experiencing a great deal of road construction. You may want to refer to for driving restrictions and closures.
  • Students are encouraged to bring sealed bottled water but no other outside food or beverages. Families and guests are also encouraged to bring water in an unopened factory sealed plastic bottle. Concession stands will be open for families and guests, but students should eat before arriving to the stadium.
  • Student WILL NOT be getting their official certificates at the Completion Ceremony. Although the completion ceremonies will be on Monday, May 17, and Tuesday, May 18, and the last of school for students will be on Wednesday, May 19.
