Twenty-eight student designers in EVIT’s Fashion, Interiors & Textiles program will showcase their creations and collections during the Fashion and Interior Design Show 6 p.m., Wednesday, April 13 at the East Valley Institute of Technology’s Dr. A. Keith Crandell (Main) Campus, 1601 W. Main St., Mesa.

“Made in America” is the theme for this year’s fashion designs and interior creations that will be judged by industry professionals from the Fashion Merchandising program at Mesa Community College, the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM), Phoenix Art Institute, Ornamentation, and Nordstom, as well as EVIT fashion alumni.

Every year, several EVIT programs assist with the production of the fashion show, including Construction, Radio/Audio Production, Cosmetology and Aesthetics, Multimedia and Culinary Arts. The show takes place in the Culinary Banquet Hall. Over 70 students from EVIT programs will model garments in the show.

Alumni of EVIT’s Fashion, Interiors & Textiles program have gone on to prestigious design schools, including FIDM and the Pratt Institute, and many are currently working in the design industry.

This year’s class of budding designers just recently competed in the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America state championships where they won four gold and four silver medals.

Tickets are still on sale for the Wednesday show for $20, $15 and $10. To reserve tickets, contact instructor Kim Foulger at (480) 461-4142.

EVIT is currently enrolling in all programs. Wednesday’s show provides a good opportunity for students interested in fashion or interior design to see what the EVIT program is like.

EVIT provides 40 tuition-free career training programs for high school students who reside in 10 East Valley school districts. Tuition-based programs for adults are also offered, with financial aid available for those who qualify.
