EVIT’s Early Childhood Education program is sponsoring a free play group for 4- and 5-year-old children, who are in their last year before kindergarten, to participate in activities designed to increase their readiness for kindergarten.

This two-hour, twice-weekly class will be implemented by a certified teacher, in partnership with EVIT high school students in the Early Childhood Education program. This is a lab experience for the EVIT students, who will learn about how to interact with children and how to develop readiness curriculum.

The first class will be Tuesday, Nov. 10 and will run every Tuesday and Thursday (except Thanksgiving) until Thursday, Dec. 3.  The morning session will be from 8:15 to 10:15 a.m. and the afternoon session will be from 12:15 to 2:15 p.m.

Parents are invited to be participants, and will learn about how to implement many readiness activities at home. The children will be involved in a preschool-like atmosphere on the campus of the East Valley Institute of Technology, 1601 W. Main St., Mesa.

Registration information can be obtained by emailing ECE.PLAYGROUP@mail.com

It is the policy of the East Valley Institute of Technology District #401 to provide all persons with equal employment and education opportunities regardless of race, color, sex, national origin, marital status, age or disability. District grievance procedures will be followed for compliance with Title IX and Section 504 requirements. The compliance officer is the EVIT Superintendent.
